Vézières

The commune of Vézières has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. The first mention dates from 970 “Vicaria” “Vaereciaceusis” and then takes on various names between 1040 and 1383 before finally becoming Vézières in 1454.
Discover the Château de Montpensier (private site), which for a long time was attached to the Domaine du Coudray in Seuilly, Indre et Loire. Separated from Le Coudray in the early 19th century, Montpensier was destroyed by fire in 1948, leaving only a truncated main building. Since 1981, it has been undergoing restoration by the new owners.
