It’s true that there’s only one street, but what a street it is: the street of porches! A new peasant solidarity was born around a unique project: restoring what was most precious about Le Verger, its houses and more particularly the rustic porches. The size and architectural quality of the traditional farmhouses here bear witness to the past power of the seigniorial fiefs of Poitou. Two buildings in the commune are directly linked to figures who left a lasting mark on the area: Radegonde with her chapel and the Marconnay family with their château, of which all that remains today is a dwelling flanked by towers.
