Fortified during the 15th and 16th centuries, this former Carmelite convent church is a remarkable example of the late Gothic period in Poitou (south portal). The single nave ends in a flat apse pierced by a large window with flamboyant infill. The 19th-century stained glass window depicts the Resurrection, based on a painting by Raphael. Restoration of the monument has brought out the sculpted decoration as finely as lace.
Inside: the painting (painted panel) “Virgin and Child, known as Notre-Dame de Recouvrance” after restoration.
